Is the raccoon threatened or endangerd? What would happen to the raccoons habitat if it became extinct?

They are not threatened or endangered as a matter of fact I have 3 living in my back yard near a creek on my property. Is the raccoon threatened or endangerd? What would happen to the raccoons habitat if it became extinct?
Raccoons are nowhere NEAR being threatened or extinct.

Like any other animal, if it DID become extinct, its niche would either no longer be filled, or would be filled by other animals that do the same jobs. I'm not really sure what raccoons like to eat, since the seem to eat just about anything from people's garbage and they LOVE the catfood on my parents' back deck. There would be more of whatever they ate if they were no longer around. Then, if another animal ate the same thing that the raccoons ate (like the oppossums, who also enjoy garbage and catfood), those animals' population would increase because of the increased availability of food. However, the predator of the raccoon - dog, wolf, coyote may - would decrease in population because they have less food...That is, unless they eat the oppossum, who is now increasing in numbers because of their increased resources. So, the number of predators of the raccoon may dip while waiting for the population of the alternative prey to increase.

For the most part, I can't think of any job, predator, or prey that is SPECIFICALLY of the raccoon. However, those things would be the most affected and may even follow the raccoon into extinction if the raccoon performs a specific function for them and that function CANNOT by any means be performed by something else.Is the raccoon threatened or endangerd? What would happen to the raccoons habitat if it became extinct?
No, we have them by the billions- nothing would happen to their habitat due to their extinction because that habitat is occupied by all the other forest animals, deer, squirrels, turkeys, birds, pos鈥?hogs etc.
What would happen to their habitat? Another animal would move in. Survival of the fittest.
