Where would one acquire a raccoon for domestic purposes?

As the title asks. I am aware that some people in America have domesticated raccoons as household pets. How does one get into a situation like that?

Where do you get a raccoon in the first place? I'm assuming that nobody just went outside and picked up a wild one, because of the disease and rabies that they carry.Where would one acquire a raccoon for domestic purposes?
Raccoons are a lot of fun but they are more work than most people can handle. The can turn against you and become very mean. If you want one more than likely you'll have to catch one as a baby. I really don't recommend getting one for a pet.Where would one acquire a raccoon for domestic purposes?
ok first off im all for wild pets my sister has a cheetah she raised from a cub (worked with a zoo) this cheetah thinks my sister is her mom anyhow raccoons make horrible pets!!!!!! they cannot be domesticated ... they cannot be potty trained they are awful people who keep them are keeping them captive and its awful ...try a fennec fox they are soo cute and a lot better behaved... oh and yes the people went out and caught a wild one ...i know stupid right
Don't do this. I'm sure it's illegal. They are wild animals by nature, very aggressive, and not alwats friendly. It takes years of breeding, domesticating, and work to make an animal domesticate, and they still aren't completely tame. Some animals aren't house pet material, ok?
