Is it illegal to care for a raccoon in Ohio?

I found a 10 day old racoon and I wanted to know if it was illegal to keep it as a house pet.Is it illegal to care for a raccoon in Ohio?
Yes, it's illegal. Call your county wildlife officer, who can help you find the licensed animal rehabilitator to raise it. Raccoons are so cute when they're young, and dangerous and destructive entering adulthood.

A wildlife rehabber knows how to raise him so he can live on his own in the wild -- skills he won't have if raised as a pet.

Without an exotic pet license yes it is illegal.

Next thing I'm going to tell you is get rid of it, I know it sounds cruel, but you are just asking for trouble if you keep it as a pet. Raccoons do not grow up to be cute and cuddly, they grow up to be mean and vicious. They are cunning little creatures that like to get into garbage cans, cat food containers, etc. They are scavenger animals and if you don't know how to raise a raccoon so it's domesticated don't try to keep it as a pet.
Yes, it is illegal. You need to get a license to keep wild animals.

Raccoons are notorious for carrying rabies. Better get that little fella to the vet for a checkup and some shots. And just so you know, the vet is going to give you quite a lecture for trying to keep a wild animal.
I would not suggest keeping a racoon as a pet. While they may be cute when they are young, racoon's are a very fierce animal and they carry rabies. Since they are wild animals I would either turn it loose far away from your home, have it destroyed, or donate it to a zoo.
