Something other than a turtle and a raccoon is eating huge chunks out of our tomatos, wed like to know what.?

we have something in the garden eating the bottom of our tomatoes, we know what the terapin (?) turtle bite looks like because we have had some of those, we also know what it is when a raccoon eats from the garden, because we are dealing with that too, we would like to know if there is an insect of some kind that can eat what would be about a 2 lb tomato and what to do to rid ourselves of the problem. any help at all would be very appreciated. --- if it helps at all, the ones that are half eaten, are always around the bottom of the plant. no higher up than mid schin.Something other than a turtle and a raccoon is eating huge chunks out of our tomatos, wed like to know what.?
same thing that stripped my jalapeno pepper plant, I think squirrelsSomething other than a turtle and a raccoon is eating huge chunks out of our tomatos, wed like to know what.?
there are bugs called tomato worms, and they can totally destroy tomatos themselves and the plants as well,

there is a powder that you can get to put on them it wont hurt the plants or the tomotos, but it gets rid of the big green tomato worms.
depending on where you live and the last time it rained! Could be field mice and squirrils!
you're problem may be birds, rabbits, rats or really big bugs.if its a bird get a scare crow.if its a rabbit or a rat get a trap and put one of the tomatoes in it .if its bugs get some bug killer for you're tomatoes.good luck:)
squirrels. they eat everything. i would get a better fence.
