How do i catch a wild baby raccoon?

i have found out they are legal to trap in my home state of Texas, and it is also legal to keep them as pets. my grandmother used to have one for years, but it died. i just dont know how to get ahold of one. you cant buy tem because they are considered a wild animal too.How do i catch a wild baby raccoon?
Capturing an animal out of the wild isn't in the best interests of the animal. If you do something that is not in the best interests of an animal it is called animal abuse. ARE YOU AN ANIMAL ABUSER?How do i catch a wild baby raccoon?
They are only legal to trap for hunting or for their fur.

DEFINITIONS

FURBEARING ANIMALS 鈥?badgers, beavers, fox, mink, muskrat, nutria, opossum, otter, raccoon, ringtailed cat, skunk and civet cat (spotted skunk).

PROPAGATORS

Possession of live furbearing animals at any time is restricted to licensed furbearing animal propagators, persons authorized under Parks and Wildlife Code, Chapter 43, or representatives of recognized organizations for approved instruction or demonstration purposes.

RABIES QUARANTINE

It is a Class C misdemeanor to transport or sell live foxes, coyotes and raccoons from, to, or within this state.
You don't. Just because you CAN do something doesn't mean you should. You can jump off a roof, but you really shouldn't.

How would you feed this baby raccoon? How would you care for it? Where would you keep it? How would you deal with the diseases (Like RABIES?) and parasites it carries? Hmmm?

Leave the raccoons alone. If you really wish to have one, go out of state to a breeder. Although no breeder would let you just have one- you will have to live up to standards.
There is no rabies vaccine for raccoons, if you get bitten by one then the state would have to confiscate it and kill it to test for rabies. Not something you will feel very good about.

I wouldn't recommend having a wild animal as a pet. Once they reach sexual maturity they can be very dangerous.
actually you can buy them, and i suggest you do that because they are domesticated and easier to handle...if you decide to catch one i defenatly wouldnt go raiding coon nests, raccoons can be very mean belive it or not...if/when you should ever get one, never feed it anything that has fish or fish ingredents in it unless it is a domesticated one, if you feed fish to it, it triggers there mind that they are wild animals and there wild instincts come back, ive owned a coon before and so has my fiances gramma. there cute but they are not pets to be honest. they are thives too, they will snatch up all kinds of things. my suggestion is to get a normal pet...oya and alot of wild coons carry rabies and other diseases thats how mine died, (not rabies some other disease)
Not a good idea. Raccoons are nocturnal, they sleep all day, and forage for food at night. They are messy, noisy, fierce. They have very specific diet requirements, they are omnivorous, and carry very serious diseases that can be passed to domestic animals and humans in some cases.
Uhhh well i dont know how, but a heads up they really are mean especially if you acctually get them out of the wild. And i doubt a vet would look at it but u never know...just make sure if u do catch one check it for rabies and train it right away not to bite
A live trap which you buy at a hardware or garden store would work for this purpose, but it sounds like a REALLY bad idea!!

It is incredibly difficult to tame wild animals, they don't make very good pets.
you shouldn't trap one. it's probably full of diseases. have you asked your grandmother?
