How do I make a bead from a raccoon paw?

I am in a group at my church called Royal Rangers. This group is really geared toward camping and frontiersmen things. Well anyways, I just finished skinning a raccoon and I took of the four paws because I heard there is a way to make beads out of them. Can anyone tell me how? Please be thorough.How do I make a bead from a raccoon paw?
I have been hunting coon since I was 7 or 8 going along with my dad and grandpa, so that's 25 years now and i have never heard of making beads out of a paw. I cant even think of a way it could be possible.How do I make a bead from a raccoon paw?
The only thing that I can think of that you are talking about is stringing the claws. You drill a hole through the part that was under the flesh, after cleaning it of course and run a string through it. I see this done with turkey spurs a lot.
