call Animal Control. Most of the time they have free live traps that they can borrow to you.
I understand the question but your reasoning is not clear. I keep asking myself what are you going to do with a raccoon once you get it. I have a family of five raccoons that visit my back porch almost every night wanting to get into my bird feeders or eat any leftovers I give them. I mean if you were trying to make a pet out of a baby, it would not be hard to coax one using marsh mellows or other scraps of food to where ever you want the raccoon to go. I would not recommend keeping one for a pet. The ones on our porch are so used to us, they will show up while we are sitting out there. Now if your wanting to relocate the raccoon I would also recommend having a professional do it. Remember the raccoon has a home and you may take in consideration that it has a family. A trap will be needed to relocate a raccoon, they can be very vicious if they want to be. So be careful.
If you mean without a trap that will kill it, there are several ways, though my suggestion would be to check with your local vet or wildlife/forest ranger to see if they have humane traps you can use. These are similar to box traps (or if you're more familiar with them, crab pots) and cage the animal harmlessly for removal to a more suitable habitat (further away from humans/homes).
