I want one but what about a license? Can you keep a raccoon as a pet with a license?
It's up to the local laws. They are considered wild animals though. Can you keep a raccoon as a pet with a license?
Not sure. But down south i hear they make great hats =)
You need to check with your state Dept. of Concervation, then check with your city.
But this is a very bad idea. They are a very cool looking critter, but they will destroy your house. They can and will get into anything unless it is locked shut.
And they also get meaner as they get older. An older racoon is a match for most any dog.
This is a wild animal, that can never be fully tamed.
But they taste pretty good with bbq sauce.
I can't believe no one brought up the fact that they are a RABIES VECTOR SPECIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
HEEEELLLLLLOOOOOOO
I'm not sure, but aren't they the cutest? I have one by my apartment complex and I want to feed him...I even named him...His name is Raccoony Poo!
Certainly not! I used to work for the Animal Control and raccoons and any other small wild animals are prohibbited from being kept as pets.
No. They are wild animals and should be kept that way.
