How can i get rid of an annoying raccoon that keeps coming into my yard without hurting him?

i have tried traps and i have even tried moth balls helpHow can i get rid of an annoying raccoon that keeps coming into my yard without hurting him?
You might consider predator urine (yes, you can buy it online!), but rackety-goons are creatures of habit and tend to have their routes. More stringent control measures may be needed. Though I do have to report that the raccoon my hubby hit in the backside with a well-aimed can of tomato sauce didn't come back... %26lt;g%26gt;

Racoons are creatures of habit, once they've found a place they like, they tend to stay. Make sure you don't have any food source out there for him, like dog food, bird feeders, and that sort of thing, also if you have a pond or a birdbath that can attract them too. I guess the best you can do is to make it as uncomfortable for the little bugger as possible. Cayenne pepper might work. Outdoor lights might keep them away. But in the long run, you may just have to learn to love the little guy and hope he doesn't get distructive on your house or property. Also, you might try talking to the animal control peple in your area to see if they have a trap or something to lure him away. Good luck!
With all these ideas, I'd use a no kill trap and when you get him take it to a wooded area and set it free. Don't try petting it.
Critter Ridder.

It's an animal repellent. You sprinkle it around the perimeter of your property. You can find at Lowe's.

My wife uses it in our yard because of skunks.

Put tuna and/or peanut butter in a Have-A-Heart trap. Place it under the bait tray. Weight down the trap so he can't flip it over. After you catch it, relocate it around 10 miles from you. If at all possible, try to put a body of water between you and it.

They love to fish.
Well, if you see him during the day DONT go near him.

The means he is sick, possibly rabid so call Animal Control.
sprinkle ceyenne pepper powder in your yard... it doesn;t really hurt them but the will sniff it and there nasal passage will burn for about 30 seconds while they run away
you might try a live trap of the size that will handle a coon. start feeding the animal outside the trap until it get used to the trap and being fed. canned dog food seems to work fairly well. keep moving the food closer to the trap and eventually place it in the back of the trap. when you finally do catch it take it a long ways away from your place and turn loose. wear leather gloves and be careful not to get bit
If you get a really good trap and bait it as above you can save the little blighters life.

And you can take him somewhere safe where he can pester someone else who doesn't have your smarts and research skills!

Why not?
you can't he is going to keep coming back consider yourself lucky he is only in your yard and not in your attic or crawl space.you can always get some borox acid and put it down but that might kill your grass along with the squirrel.you don't want to do that.
